At ReFresh Your Step, a cornerstone of our practice centers around the idea that "Knowledge is Power." To that end, we work with each client to learn the general Dos and Don'ts of interviewing along with determining his/her interviewing strengths and weaknesses. By the end of the very first session, clients will know exactly what to work on for future sessions and--more importantly--upcoming interviews. See below for more information on our specialized process.
1) Assessment: First, one of our interview coaches will work with you to assess your interviewing style and identify any particular issues (lengthy responses, distracting physical ticks, inability to answer questions, etc.). You will then receive some initial feedback before moving on to Step 2.
2) Recorded Mock Interview: The first session will typically end with a recorded mock interview In this time, both you and the interviewing coach will review and analyze the recording to pick up on what went well and what will require future work.
3) Technique Sessions + Additional Mock Interviews: Together, you and the coach will work on improving your overall interviewing skills. You can also expect additional mock interviews interspersed throughout this time so as to guarantee increased exposure to various settings/situations and allow for additional technique work.
4) Culmination: Once you reach the end of your interview coaching work (as determined by both parties), the coach will administer one final mock interview but asks that this particular one be for an actual job opportunity. Doing so allows you to truly prep for a real interview and not only see your impressive improvement but also go into the real interview with a higher level of confidence.
